“How to Be Queen: Philly’s Quest for a Senior Pageant Crown” is an uplifting documentary that follows the vibrant and inspirational Philly Arnold on her journey to win a crown at the Ms. Senior World Pageant in Biloxi, Mississippi. We will learn what drives Philly to be such a motivational force and get a behind the scenes look at what it takes to compete at this level… and at this age.
SYNOPSIS
Philly Arnold, the current Ms. Senior Texas, is a 67 year old inspirational force of motivation. Oh… and she’s FABULOUUUUS. When you first meet Philly, it is hard not to be struck by her positive energy. Her primary goal in her current life stage is to prove that age should not be factor when living life to its fullest. And to double down on that message, she actively participates in beauty pageants for senior contestants.
Preparation for beauty pageants is an intense process with lots of to-dos on the itinerary, and a support crew of many to help along the way; with public speaking coaches, spray tan artists, filler doctors, makeup artists, pilates instructors and more, the team is quite extensive. Now add to that list the responsibilities of being a grandmother to an infant and a toddler, a professional medical sales rep, and all the other daily requirements of being a thriving 67 year old. All together these elements will combine to make for a compelling documentary subject matter.
Through the perspective of the funny, vibrant and positive personality that IS Philly Arnold, we will show just what it takes to prepare for AND compete at the Ms. Senior World Pageant. We will capture her various appointments, and interview her and her support team to dive deep into what it takes to hopefully earn a crown as the next Ms. Senior World.
The creation of this feature length documentary is a collaboration between Row One Productions and the Christy Maz Network.

We feature women who look like us on camera and behind the scenes, too. We tell stories in narrative shows, podcasts, articles and our clothing boutique.
Our content and clothing boutique is created from this Christy Maz perspective and features topics we can all relate to—from getting wrinkly knees and keeping the marriage alive after 20 years to hangovers from two glasses of wine and imposter syndrome.
Our boutique has clothes that work for us—a shirt that covers our stomach and arms, with breathable materials that are stylish yet hot-flash friendly.
Christy Maz showcases the unique choices women make every day that inspire us to find our passion in life. Change careers! Make that pivot! If she can do it, we can too. At any age!
We believe the aging narrative for women needs to be positively acknowledged and reflect the current reality of women. We create all our content and clothing in a tone that will make us feel sexy and fun, not stuffy and matronly. Each piece of clothing is selected with this in mind.
